Melanie and Bill Hill
My husband and I have been married for 7 years and for most of that time have been struggling with our relationship. We are soooo different and have had a very hard time communicating and understanding one another. We are Christians and know that marriage is more than a commitment, it is a covenant. We have sought Christian counseling and attended a marriage seminar and would try different approaches to improve our marriage. Sometimes they lasted a day, sometimes a few weeks, but we always managed to go right back to our “old habits” of either heated verbal “discussions” (fights) or not talking about anything more than “surface talk”. After years of this pattern, I felt that there was no hope for our marriage to be anything more than a ‘roommate” type of relationship at best….until I heard a “Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage Minute” on a Christian radio station. I thought to myself “this guy must have been watching us!!” He “hit the nail on the head” so to speak and with such humor!
My husband and I had gotten into another discussion and I wept all night. I felt as though our marriage was dead. Then I remembered Mark Gungor’s Better Marriage Minute and went to his website. I was interested in the Flag Page and called the 800 number. I was greeted on the phone by a friendly voice and as she asked how she could help, I found myself pouring out my heart about the desperation I was feeling about our marriage. She put us in touch with a Marriage Translator named Jane. What a blessing from God!! Jane walked us through the Flag Page program and listened as we expanded on the simple questions she would ask. She helped us understand who we are and how we can use our differences to complement one another, not tear one another down. As we continued through the program, Jane became a “marriage translator” but a friend as well. We have been so blessed by the Flag Page program and by Jane. We would recommend it strongly to anyone experiencing problems in marriage or any relationship for that matter. Thank you Jane!! And thanks to the folks at Laugh Your Way!! You have brought our relationship back to “life”.
With Sincere Gratitude,
Melanie and Bill Hill
